I have tried a few different pizza crusts and were never really satisfied with the results. When I found one and tweaked it the way I wanted, I couldn't have been happier with the results. Finally a crispy pizza crust the way it should be with all the toppings everyone enjoys.
Ingredients
Pizza Crust
1 1/2 Cups Gluten Free Flour Mix
1 1/2 Teaspoon Xanthan Gum
1 Tablespoon Dry Active Yeast
1 Envelope Unflavored Gelatin
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
2 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1/2 Teaspoon Sucanant
2/3 Cup Hot Water
Pizza Sauce
1 Can Tomato Sauce, 15 Ounces
1/2 Teaspoon Onion Powder
1 Tablespoon Dried Basil
1 Teaspoon Dried Oregano
1-2 Cloves Garlic, Minced
1/4 Teaspoon Pepper
Directions
Pizza Sauce
In a medium saucepan combine can of tomato sauce, onion powder, basil, sucanant, oregano, garlic, and pepper. Cook on medium heat until boiling, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
Pizza Crust
Preheat oven to 450 degrees and spray pizza pan with olive oil. Combine flour, xanthan gum, yeast, gelatin, salt, olive oil, sucanant, and hot water in a bowl of an electric mixer. Mix on low until combined, then turn on high for 3 minutes.
Put dough in a small bowl and dust with gluten free flour blend. Work into dough until pliable. Use hands to form dough into a ball and place on pizza pan. Use the heel of your hand and press dough in center and flatten moving around the dough to form a circle. Take rolling pin and roll out remainder of dough until desired thickness. Spray dough with olive oil and use brush to brush oil over entire surface of crust. Spoon a couple of tablespoons of pizza sauce onto pizza crust and spread around. Top with favorite pizza toppings and mozzarella cheese. Bake in oven for 10-15 minutes. Wen done, let cool, cut, and enjoy.
