Al Fresco's Natural Chicken Sausage is a another good find. The other day my husband and I tried the Italian flavor. It is all natural and doesn't have any nitrites or other harmful ingredients. It is pretty good on the digestive system if your body can handle the bell peppers. It would probably taste even better with some gluten free pasta and marinara sauce or stir fried with some veggies. Ingles in Flowery Branch carries a few different flavors and Al Fresco currently has a $1 off coupon on their website. It is worth the trip.

Chocolate Raspberry Smart Greens
Anytime I have to make a run to Buford, I purposefully go to Juices Wild in the Big Lots shopping center. They not only have some amazing organic products, but they have a juice bar where you can order something fresh to go.
One of the things that I ALWAYS get when I go there is their Chocolate Raspberry Smart Green Energy Bar. It tastes SO GOOD! I know I mention how most of my finds are amazing, but this is #1 on the list. If I could eat a whole box I would.
They say this bar gives you more than 100% of your daily intake for vegetables and fruits. So, if you don't like vegetables; you'll love eating them this way. My twelve year old was amazed at how good it tastes when it has parsley, beets, broccoli, aloe, barley grass, wheat grass, and some amazing antioxidant fruits. This is hands down a no brainer. You will absolutely LOVE this bar.

Gluten Free Pumpkin Muffins
Banana Muffin Variation |
1/3 Cup Canola Oil
2/3 Cup Brown Sugar, Packed
2 Large Eggs
1 Teaspoon Pure Vanilla
1 3/4 Cup Gluten Free Flour
2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
1 1/4 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1 Teaspoon Xanthan Gum
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1 1/2 Cup Pureed Pumpkin
1/2 Cup Chopped Pecans or Walnuts (Optional)
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease jumbo muffin pan. Cream together oil, sugar, eggs, and vanilla in large bowl with electric mixer. In a separate bowl, mix together flour, xanthan gum, salt, baking powder and cinnamon. Puree pumpkin. Add flour and pumpkin to egg mixture, alternating between the two. Beat until smooth. Stir in nuts. Batter will be somewhat soft. Transfer to pan. Bake for 30 minutes.
Notes: There is nothing like fresh pureed pumpkin. There are no preservatives and you know what you are getting. The best time to get some is after halloween. Then you can process and can them yourself. You can substitue sucanat for the brown sugar and use aluminum free baking powder. The gluten free flour is made with rice flour, millet flour, and tapioca flour. I'll post that recipe soon. If you don't want to use pumpkin, you can substitute the pumpkin for bananas. The measurements will be the same. Enjoy!

Hemp Protein
When you can't do soy, milk, or whey; hemp is your next best choice. I LOVE the dark chocolate flavored hemp protein from Manitoba Harvest! It mixes very nicely with rice milk or hemp milk. I especially like it with freshly pressed almond butter from Ingles. Yummmmm! When I can have bananas, I throw them in as well. This protein supplement helps your body get the necessary protein that it needs to help your body repair itself and is a great source of amino acids.

Wintergreen
I first learned about the wintergreen essential oil when my chiropractor said that I have some deterioration of my L5 disk located in my lower back. As I began researching various oils that would help with lower back pain and arthritis pain, this oil consistently came up.
When using wintergreen, you do have to make sure you are careful with it and especially don't use it when you are pregnant. The only recommend usuage that I felt comfortable with is 2 drops with a 50/50 mix of extra virgin olive applied topically to the feet. I would use a reflexology chart and apply it to the spine area, but sometimes I would apply it all over the foot. It makes for a great foot massage!!
Caution: Wintergreen can be toxic if used directly or frequently. Use with extreme caution.
To find out more about this oil, check Organic Facts website or the Essential Oil Desk Reference book found on Amazon. I purchased it online at Aura Cacia's website. Check them out today!

Myrrh
There are so many things that this wonderful oil can do. It can purify the body of toxins, help deliver oxygen to the organs, heal bruises, remove scars, help with varicose veins, and so much more. It only takes a little bit. Use 2 to 3 drops on your hand to use topically or on your feet mixed with a little olive oil. You can also mix 5 to 10 drops with some epsom salt and put it in the tub for a nice soak. Researchers have said that this oil will deprogram information at the cellular level and reprogram it with correct information. Who doesn't need that!
